What has been called "Ohio's Most Unique Music Festival," the Washboard Music Festival, occurs annually in Logan, Ohio. This event has taken place every June on Father's Day weekend since 2000.
The festival celebrates the washboard as a musical instrument. Musicians use washboards in their performances. Jug bands, Dixieland groups, and Cajun musicians most commonly use the washboard.
Logan, Ohio is the home of the Columbus Washboard Company. This firm is the only producer of washboards in the United States of America today.
During the festival, attendees can tour the Columbus Washboard Company's factory and listen to nearly three dozen different musical performers. An arts and crafts festival, a parade and tours of the Hocking Hills also take place during the festival.
