The Toledo Jeeps was a professional basketball team in Toledo, Ohio. It played in the National Basketball League, which formed in 1937. In 1949, this league joined with the Basketball Association of America to form the National Basketball Association.
The Toledo Jeeps played for two seasons (1946-1948). During the team’s first season, the squad finished third in the the National Basketball League’s Eastern Division. The team won twenty-one and lost twenty-three games. The squad lost in the first round of the playoffs. During the 1947-1948 season, the Toledo Jeeps finished next to last in the Eastern Division, amassing twenty-two wins and thirty-seven losses. Due to the team’s poor performance, the Toledo Jeeps disbanded at the end of the season.
