Dayton Skyhawks

The Dayton Skyhawks was a professional indoor football team from Dayton, Ohio. The team played in the Indoor Football League. This league formed in 1999 and operated for two seasons. The Skyhawks was one of the founding teams of the Indoor Football League.

The Skyhawks performed admirably during its two seasons of existence, however, the organization failed to win a championship. During the 1999-2000 season, Earnest Wilson served as the team’s first head coach and general manager. Chris MacKeown coached the team during the 2000-2001 season, leading the team to six wins and three losses. Following this second season, the Indoor Football League ceased operations, with a few of its teams and numerous players joining other leagues.
