The Cincinnati Comellos was a professional basketball team in Cincinnati, Ohio. The team played in the National Basketball League, which formed in 1937. In 1949, this league joined with the Basketball Association of America to form the National Basketball Association.
The Cincinnati Comellos played less than one season (1937-1938). The team began the season as the Richmond King Clothiers in Richmond, Indiana. Hoping to increase attendance, the team's owners moved the squad to Cincinnati during the middle of the season. They played their first home game there on January 16, 1938 at the Freeman Avenue Armory Gym in Cincinnati. The team finished fifth in the the National Basketball League's Western Division. The Clothiers/Comellos won just three and lost seven games. Due to its poor performance, the Cincinnati Comellos disbanded at the end of the season.
