Ohio's economy still remains very dependent on the state's river network. The Ohio River, in particular, connects the state with a large inland river system that brings buisiness to and from over 85% of the nation's major cities. The huge barges that move coal, petroleum products, and agricultural goods up and down the river make the Ohio River, above, all else, a working river.
