George K. Otis
Ohioan George K. Otis was a famous businessman and Christian evangelist.
Otis was born on April 20, 1917, in Payne, Ohio. He became fascinated with excitement and adventure. When he was in the ninth grade, he traveled via motorcycle to Cape Cod to see the Atlantic Ocean. He also flew an airplane before he learned to drive a car. Otis eventually graduated from Earlham College and then embarked upon a business career.
Over the course of his career, Otis held numerous positions, including serving as general manager of the LearJet Corporation. Later in life, he dedicated his business interests to spreading the Christian faith. Otis participated in or founded the following ventures: Full Gospel Businessmen’s Fellowship, Bible Voice, Inc., and High Adventure Ministries. In 1979, he also helped organize the Voice of Hope radio and television ministry, which broadcast from the border of Israel with Lebanon. Eventually, Otis and his colleagues expanded their radio and television broadcasts around the world.
Otis died on July 22, 2007. At the time of his death, Otis lived in Murrieta, California.
