The Dayton Warbirds is a professional indoor football team from Dayton, Ohio. The team plays in the National Indoor Football League (NIFL), a minor league for the Arena Football League.

The Dayton Warbirds formed in 2004, as an expansion franchise in the NIFL. Before formally joining the NIFL, the squad left this league and joined the United Indoor Football Association (UIFA). The team’s first season in the UIFA was to begin in the autumn of 2004, but the league suspended the Warbirds. The team then rejoined the NIFL and finished the 2004-2005 season with eight wins and five losses. Despite missing the first five games of the season, the Warbirds reached the playoffs, before losing in the conference quarterfinals. The team has played in the NIFL’s Atlantic Conference’s North Division since joining the league.
