Blaine Wilson was born in Columbus, Ohio, on August 3, 1974. At five years of age, he began gymnastics. He eventually emerged as one of the United States' leading male gymnasts. Wilson attended and graduated from The Ohio State University.
In 1991, Wilson qualified for the first time for the United States National Team. Since then, he has been a five-time United States National Champion, a five-time American Cup Champion, and a three-time United States Olympian. In the 2004 Olympics, Blaine helped the American team win a silver medal. Following the 2004 Olympics, Wilson effectively retired from amateur athletics.
