Cleveland Rebels
The Cleveland Rebels was one of the original teams in the Basketball Association of America. This league formed in 1946. In 1949, it joined with the National Basketball League to create the National Basketball Association. The Rebels squad played its home games in Cleveland, Ohio.
Al Sutphin, the owner of the Cleveland Arena, founded the Cleveland Rebels. The squad played in only the 1946-1947 season in the Basketball Association of America before disbanding. The team won thirty games and lost thirty games. The Rebels finished third out of five teams in the league’s Western Division this season.
