Cleveland Force (Major Indoor Soccer League (2002-2005))

The Cleveland Force was a professional indoor soccer team from Cleveland, Ohio. The team played in the Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL), which formed in 2001. From 1978 to 1988, another Cleveland Force team played in an earlier Major Indoor Soccer League. This league existed from 1978-1990. The earlier MISL became the Major Soccer League in 1990, and it continued to operate under this name until 1992.

The Cleveland Force originally was known as the Cleveland Crunch. The Crunch joined the original MISL after the original Cleveland Force disbanded in 1988. The Crunch played in various leagues until it became a charter member of the new MISL in 2001. In 2002, owners of the team renamed the squad the Cleveland Force. Unfortunately, the Cleveland Force struggled financially and became an inactive team when the current owners could not find a purchaser for the team.
